Being tall, Jamie was forced to move off ponies and onto horses at an early age. Having competed in WHP and M&M classes Jamie wanted to move onto Hunters.

After months of searching and trying horses Ali Fernghough rang to say she had been sent a video of an intermediate event horse in Scotland. The call came through that the horse had the most amazing temperament, great limbs and fabulous movement. Within two days Kelly's Hero was vetted and in the Ryder-Phillips yard. He is a ten year old 17.1 middleweight3/ T.B bay gelding by Master Imp out of a King of Diamonds mare.

Penny, Jamie's mum brought in the team who always work with the horses and ponies on their yard. Lizzie the nutritionist from Saracen Feeds came to sort out the correct feeding plan to build Hero up without blowing his brains.

Jamie started University last September and this season has had a string of brilliant results with wins on the flat and over fences at Suffolk, Herts, Three Counties, South of England and Equifest. They took The Amateur Working Hunter Championship at The Hickstead Derby and qualified for three classes at The RIHS where they were seventh in the Heavyweight Working Hunter. Hero is a teenager's dream horse.
