This year has been one of the best of my life. I have made memories that I will treasure forever. They say that the harder you work, the sweeter the success and that couldn’t be truer. My feet haven’t touched the ground since February and Into The Blue has been simply tremendous.
I was selected for Aachen CDIO 5* with my teammates Charlotte Du Jardin and Lottie Fry. Being down to three members not only put the pressure on but meant every second and score counted! I must say though, this is something Dynamo and I relish in. We love a bit of pressure. We all did the best tests we could do and it was one of the happiest days of my life! The dream team with over 70% scores and a fabulous dinner to celebrate with Team GB in the evening. I was pinching myself being sat next to the lovely Carl Hester too! I was truly blessed to have both Gareth Hughes and Carl to help me there. It made the world of difference to have that kind of support and I’ll be forever grateful.
The dreaming didn’t stop in Aachen! I already had podium results with Team GB in Geesteren finishing in bronze and two top ten placings in Fritzens Austria (Mr and Mrs Swarovski ‘s show) which was amazing, Dressage in the mountains. Surreal and breath taking. Although 40 degrees was challenging, but luckily Dynamo loves the sun so it suited us.
Then my beloved Hickstead where I was not on the Team but individual and I achieved my first double win with over 76% in the freestyle so a PB too!
Then a bit of quiet time to get all my clients qualified for HOYS, which they all achieved. The run up to HOYS with all the preparation for my clients is so thrilling for me, it’s so much fun even if it is exhausting! It’s worth it to see the smiles on their faces when their hard work and dedication to what they do all paying off. Somehow I fit this in around my British Dressage National Championships where I finished third to Lara Butler and Carl Hester.... another dream!
Next I was off to Le Mans in France for my first indoor show of the season where Dynamo won again, can you believe it? Quite amazing but the biggest thing was, just after the Grand Prix I got ‘THE E MAIL’.. I had been invited to compete at the Stuttgart German masters in the WORLD CUP! Now many people may not want to accept with it being the toughest competitive show of the year, but I could never turn an opportunity like that down. I’m so pleased I didn’t as we absolutely loved it and finished top fifteen and got five World Cup points. It’s been unreal.
It was an honour to be asked to ride for Daniel Bachman Anderson this weekend at the convention which I’m very excited about. But our biggest dream is to ride at Olympia before our winter break and I’m first reserve so it could happen. I’m praying every day!
I’d like to say a BIG thank you to the Saracen team for keeping Dynamo in peak condition during this incredibly busy time, he lives for shows because he is centre of attention! But it wouldn’t be possible without them, so thank you!
Into The Blue, Dynamo is just incredible. He develops every show we go to and I know there are some huge scores to come but it is a process, and all will come and I’m just enjoying the learning about everything along the way.... what a ride!
Hope to see you all soon.
